Minyanville's Holiday Festivus

Proceeds to Benefit The Ruby Peck Foundation for Children's Education

Thursday, December 4, 2008

On December 4th, 2008- Minyanville hosted an old-fashioned western style hoe-down in the heart of New York City.  Held at Hill Country, New York's first restaurant dedicated to the flavors and traditions of Texas Hill Country Barbecue. The Minyanville community gathered to celebrate life and holiday cheer as we do our part to help tomorrow's dreamers, teachers, healers, leaders and visionaries.

Minyanville has always strived to do business in the best way possible.  By surrounding ourselves with trusted folks that have complementary skill sets, our mission is to affect positive change throughout the vertical of finance and across the spectrum of society.

Each year we gather to celebrate our collective journey, bringing our ""Circle of Trust"" the Minyanville professors, partners, investors and employees together to share hugs, handshakes, ideas and perspective on the financial landscape and global environment.

Festivus was a memorable evening of delicious food, slamming music, intelligent discourse and close friends.  As the purpose of the journey is the journey itself, we very much thank you for sharing this journey with us.

LIVE MUSIC was provided by these four amazing cover bands:

August West - A Trip with The Grateful Dead
The Petty Thieves-The music of Tom Petty

No Mersey - The Beatles at Their Best www.nomerseyband.com
The Rolling Bones - The World's Second Greatest Stones Show www.rollingbones.org

100% of the evenings net proceeds will benefit The Ruby Peck Foundation for Children's Education. The foundation was created in the memory of Todd Harrison's grandfather Ruby Peck; the man who left a legacy for the love of learning.

This year's primary beneficiary is The Children's Aid Society with a focus on two programs that merit our special attention.

- The Family Wellness Program which includes an educationally enriched children's arts curriculum with programs focused on supporting and stabilizing fragile families.

-The East Harlem Center which offers a comprehensive after-school arts program, providing less fortunate children with a creative outlet for self expression and an opportunity to discover new interests and talents.
