Michael Santoli

Senior Editor

Barron's, New York

Michael Santoli, senior editor, claims that “If I don’t have a point of view, I’m not doing my job and the last thing I want to do is to be obscure. I want the reader to know my opinion and to know the difference between fact and opinion.” Through the years, Barron's readers have been treated to Santoli’s opinion on a number of different topics. As one of Barron‘s most seasoned columnists, Michael has been responsible for at least four different columns during his tenure at Barron's.

Michael has written “The Trader” column since May 2002, which broadly covers the stock market and investment trends. “The Trader” relies on some of Wall Street’s savviest and most experienced analysts, traders, strategists and portfolio managers, as well as corporate chieftains. Michael lends his personal writing style to “The Trader,” opening a window on the market’s occasionally quirky behavior and investor psychology.

From March 2002 until he was promoted to his current assignment, Michael served as Barron's mutual-funds guru. Weldon Financial

After studying English at Colgate University, Greg began his successful career in the financial markets in the Comex Gold and Silver Pits. As foreign debt futures emerged in the mid-'80's, he joined Lehman Brothers as a broker, and was later hired by Prudential Securities as an institutional sales trader.

In 1990, Greg joined the now legendary hedge fund Moore Capital Management, first in trade execution and then eventually as a proprietary trader.

In 1998, as Goldman Sachs bought out the CC partnership, Greg decided to start his own company, forming Weldon Financial.
